Backing the West Berkshire Dementia Hub

I recently had the privilege of meeting some of the fantastic team behind the proposed West Berkshire Dementia Hub, a project that I’m proud to support.
I met with James Wilcox, who many will know for his great work with Age Concern Newbury, and Catherine Lovell, a dedicated Trustee of the Dementia Hub. It was inspiring to hear their vision for a purpose-built centre that will bring together the full range of dementia services in one place.
We know that the number of people living with dementia in West Berkshire is set to rise substantially over the next decade. That means we need to act now to ensure that individuals and families affected by this condition get the help and care they need. The Hub will make a huge difference, not just in improving outcomes for those living with dementia, but also in providing vital support for their loved ones as well.
Bringing all the services under one roof will make it easier for people to access help, reduce delays, and ensure that families aren’t left struggling to navigate a complex system at what is already a very difficult time.
This project will be a hugely valuable addition to our excellent local health and care services, and I look forward to seeing it become a reality. I’ll continue to do what I can to support the team as they move forward.
