I’m calling for urgent action after pension failures have left civil servants without income and millions of WASPI women denied fair compensation.

I’ve just listened to the Spring Statement and, frankly, it’s not good enough. Families, young people, pensioners, and businesses in Newbury and West Berkshire are still feeling squeezed. We need urgent action to cut fuel and energy costs, fix social care, and support graduates.

After the Government’s hammer blow refusal to compensate, I will keep standing with WASPI women to ensure the Government deliver justice for WASPI women.

Looking ahead to 2026, I reflect on the issues residents raise with me every day, from the NHS and transport to the rural economy, education, housing and the environment, and how listening will continue to shape my work.

It’s taken nearly a year and mounting pressure for the Chancellor to finally admit the Winter Fuel Payment cuts have gone too far. I’ve heard from older residents across Newbury who are worried about staying warm.

Pensioners in Newbury deserve financial security.
