Broken eVisa system leaving people in limbo

I’ve recently been supporting a constituent who faced enormous difficulty accessing vital documents through the UK’s eVisa system. The individual was left stuck, unable to get the help they needed, and with no clear route to escalate their case.

While this particular eVisa case had a positive outcome, it’s not acceptable that people are being forced to navigate a digital-only system that isn’t working properly, especially when it affects their ability to work, rent, travel, or live securely in this country. It is a highly stressful situation for many.

I’ve written to the Minister for Immigration to highlight this failure and demand urgent improvements. The Government needs to ensure there is a functioning support service in place, including access to a helpline and a clear route for resolution when things go wrong.

No one should be left in limbo because of a broken digital process. I’ll keep raising this issue until we see real changes.
