Speeding Up Cancer Treatment Access Must Be a Priority

Breast cancer is a disease that touches far too many lives, including that of my colleague, Clive Jones MP, who has bravely faced it himself.

When we compare survival rates for cancer with other advanced nations, the UK is falling behind. That’s not just a statistic – it’s a tragedy for those who miss out on early, effective treatment.

I’ve written to Health Secretary Wes Streeting to press the Government to take urgent steps to improve access to new drugs and treatments. We need the MHRA to have the resources to speed up approvals, so that people get the care they need in time.

No one should lose their life because of delays in our system. This is about saving lives, and giving people the hope they deserve.
