Continuing to Push for Fair Compensation for WASPI Women

I have signed a cross-party letter to Steve Darling urging the government to reconsider its position on the case for compensation for WASPI women (Women Against State Pension Inequality).
After having acknowledged that its previous decision to refuse compensation was flawed, the government has committed to conducting a full review of all relevant evidence. A decision is expected to be announced before February 24, 2026.
This follows the discovery of important evidence that was reportedly hidden from the government during its initial review. While members of the government have made it clear that this review doesn’t necessarily mean they will decide to award compensation, it is a positive step in the right direction.
The Liberal Democrats have stood with the WASPI women since the inception of their campaign, and I fully support their fight for justice. As your MP, I will continue to push for fair compensation for those affected, and I will update you on any new developments.
