Kennet Sixth Form Question Time

Last week, I had the pleasure of taking part in a Question Time event at Kennet Sixth Form in Thatcham.
I was joined by representatives from four other parties to answer questions and debate issues put forward by Year 12 and 13 students.
I was impressed with the quality of the questions posed. They covered a range of pertinent national and local issues, including:
Plans to improve access to affordable housing for young people
Lowering the voting age
Private school VAT increase
Reducing crime in the local area
Waiting times at Thatcham level crossing
They also questioned us on what our political parties have achieved since the last election and what we consider to be the key priority for the government from now until 2030.
It was fantastic to see so many young people engaging in politics, sharing their views and posing such challenging questions.
Thank you to the staff and sixth formers at Kennet School for hosting us. I hope you found the debate interesting.
